ONSTART.NET, Inc's policies and
procedures for handling customer information have been created with the
understanding that Internet technologies are still evolving and that
Internet business methods are continuing to evolve to meet the needs and
opportunities of the changing technologies. As a result, ONSTART's
policies and procedures are subject to change.
ONSTART does not sell, rent or otherwise disclose its mailing lists to
third parties. ONSTART is committed to respecting and protecting the
privacy of visitors to our web sites as well as the privacy of our
Customers.
For visitors, we've structured our web sites so that, in general, you can
visit us on the web without identifying yourself or revealing any personal
information.
For Customers, once you choose to provide us personally identifiable
information (any information by which you can be identified), you can be
assured that it will only be used to support your customer relationship
with ONSTART.
In the course of serving its Customers, ONSTART acquires, stores and
transmits Customer communications and information that Customers may
regard as private or sensitive. Some of this information - such as the
Customer's name, address, telephone number, and credit card data - is
provided to ONSTART by its Customers in order to establish service. Other
information - such as the Customer's account status, choice of services,
and Customer logs - is created and maintained by ONSTART in the normal
course of providing service. ONSTART also uses cookies, which are small
pieces of information that a web site can store in a designated file on a
user's computer for various reasons. For example, ONSTART uses cookies on
the landing pages of products sold online which record the Customer
information that is required on the order form. This information is then
forwarded to an internal sales tracking database within ONSTART. In
addition, ONSTART may store Customers' electronic mail and other
communications as a necessary incident to the transmission and delivery of
those communications. The information Customer’s provide may be used for
the following general purposes: to fulfill your requests for products and
services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide
anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.
Customer information may be disclosed in the following circumstances: In
response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or
exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; when ONSTART
believes it is necessary to share information in order to investigate,
prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud,
situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any
person, violations of ONSTART’S user agreement, or as otherwise required
by law; or if ONSTART is acquired by or merged with another company. In
this event, ONSTART will notify you before information about you is
transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Security
ONSTART takes every precaution to protect our Customers’ and users’
information. When Customers and users submit sensitive information via the
website, your information is protected both online and off-line. When our
registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as
credit card number and/or social security number), that information is
encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the
industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock
icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and
Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or
open, when you are just ‘surfing’.
ONSTART will protect the confidentiality of its customers' information,
account information and personal communications to the fullest extent
possible and consistent with the law and the legitimate interests of
ONSTART, its partners, its employees and other customers of ONSTART's
services. To protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of information that
is collected from customers, ONSTART has appropriate physical, electronic,
and managerial procedures in place.
OnStart reserves the right to send bulletins and other important
information regarding our services at our discretion. |
